What is stainless steel jewellery?
Jewellery made from stainless steel is waterproof because the metal does not react to moisture. Rather than leaving a green mark on skin like brass or loosing it’s gold plating slowly like plated silver it never tarnishes or looses it’s colour. It’s also able to withstand moisture and chemicals found in sweat, swimming pools, the shower, sanitiser, moisturiser etc. You literally never need to take your Asandé jewellery off!
Sustainability:
Fast fashion creates a lot of brass based jewellery that after a few wears starts to corrode and tarnish making it quick to end up in a land-fill. Stainless steel however lasts and lasts and it is 100% recyclable. It also serves as a green metal because the manufacturing process produces minimal waste.
Silver is a non-renewable resource so choosing stainless steel also reserves that resource.

– Can i wear it when working out?
Yes! Stainless steel is resistant to sweat and won’t tarnish when worn working out.
– What’s the difference between stainless steel & sterling silver?
Stainless steel doesn’t blacken or need polishing like silver. It is resistant to rust and moisture. It is also a much harder metal than silver which makes it much more durable and long lasting than most other conventional metals.
– Is it hypoallergenic?
Yes! Stainless steel is hypoallergenic which means it won’t cause irritation or infection.
– How does it keep it’s gold colour?
Our jewellery is plated with either 14k or 18k gold-plating. It then has a layer of chromium that prevents the gold from being exposed to oxidation. Therefore the gold colour doesn’t change even when exposed to moisture.
